The Way Forward EIHAB Human Services celebrated its 25th anniversary with a gala event entitled “The Way Forward” at the Garden City Hotel on May 17. EIHAB, a multi-lingual, multicultural not-for-profit organization, serves more than 1,000 children and adults with developmental disabilities and behavioral health challenges in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. During the formal part of the evening, Melanie Hardja of Lamb Insurance Services was honored for her unwavering commitment and support of EIHAB’s mission. Kristin Thorne, an Emmy Award-winning reporter with WABC Channel 7, served as event emcee, while Dr. Hirah Mir, Chief Diversity Officer for the New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities, was the guest speaker. Trooper Foods served as the platinum sponsor for the gala, while Lamb Insurance Services was the silver sponsor and Community Care Rx and the Joseph Ahmed Foundation served as the bronze sponsors. Step 2: A member of the Volunteer department will review your application and reach out to schedule or conduct an interview. During this interview, we'll discuss your interest in volunteering and answer any questions you may have. Step 3: Complete the necessary paperwork, including background checks, fingerprinting, and attendance at EIHAB's mandatory training sessions. Step 4: Once training and all background checks are finished, you'll be prepared to begin volunteering either in-person or virtually. If you're volunteering in-person, you'll be paired with an EIHAB site and supervisor to establish a start date and schedule. If you're volunteering virtually, you can start hosting your activity.
