The Way Forward

EIHAB Human Services celebrated its 25th anniversary with a gala event entitled “The Way Forward” at the Garden City Hotel on May 17. EIHAB, a multi-lingual, multicultural not-for-profit organization, serves more than 1,000 children and adults with developmental disabilities and behavioral health challenges in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. 

 

During the formal part of the evening, Melanie Hardja of Lamb Insurance Services was honored for her unwavering commitment and support of EIHAB’s mission. Kristin Thorne, an Emmy Award-winning reporter with WABC Channel 7, served as event emcee, while Dr. Hirah Mir, Chief Diversity Officer for the New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities, was the guest speaker.  

 

Trooper Foods served as the platinum sponsor for the gala, while Lamb Insurance Services was the silver sponsor and Community Care Rx and the Joseph Ahmed Foundation served as the bronze sponsors. Other sponsors included BDO, Elsamra Construction, MHH Clinical Services, Moritt Hock & Hamroff, TD Bank, Unique People Services, Valley Bank, Paycom, BottomLine Concepts and Marketing Works. Donors included Yonkers Honda, Go Green, the Mahdaly Family, Fancy Lady Cleaning Services and Harlem Valley Corp.

EIHAB provides high-quality, compassionate services to help individuals with developmental, intellectual, and behavioral health challenges lead fulfilling, productive lives. Its robust service offerings include residential, day habilitation, community habilitation and respite services. During the gala, Chairman of the Board Jason Wonsang shared EIHAB’s plans for future growth, which include expanding residential and habilitation programs and broadening supportive services to take a life coach approach to help individuals achieve their specific life goals. 

 

“Looking ahead to the next quarter-century, our goal is to build on our successes of our first 25 years and to have an even greater impact on the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities in underserved communities,” said Co-Chief Executive Officer Hamdy Elgindy.
